Hi. I’m Martin.
I wrote the book I could not find.
A life lived. A few lessons worth sharing.
I’ve lived with incontinence since 2020. When it began in my twenties, I had a job, a relationship, and a life I wanted to keep living. I also had a lot of questions I didn’t know how to ask.
Over time, I learned the ordinary details: finding protection that worked for me, carrying supplies, getting through work, and going places again. I made mistakes. I worried about things that eventually became routine.
Writing Covered meant being honest about more than the logistics. It meant looking at shame, relationships, comfort, and feelings I hadn’t always understood or wanted to acknowledge.
I work full time in a demanding career, so Covered came together in the evenings and on weekends over more than a year. Somehow, it grew to over 100,000 words. It’s now finished and in editing, with a target release of early 2027.
I’m not a medical professional. I’m a person sharing what I’ve experienced and learned, with research and sources alongside the practical material.
Communities have helped me understand things about myself that I couldn’t explain. Other people being honest made a difference. I hope this book gives someone else that same feeling of being less alone.
Using a pen name lets me be candid while protecting my privacy and the privacy of people close to me.
The conversation matters.
Questions, corrections, and your perspective are welcome. I’d like to hear what the book brings up for you.
